Karen Schofield
Introduction 
Karen Schofield currently holds the Associate Principal Flute chair with Orchestra Victoria, Australia. She gained her Bachelor with Honours, and Masters Degrees of Performance from the Victorian College of the Arts and is currently undertaking a PhD with a focus on the performance of 20th century Eastern European Flute repertoire. Karen has studied and performed throughout Europe, Canada, the U.S and the U.K and was the recipient of an Ian Potter Foundation grant.

Karen has recorded several concertos with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and has won awards such as The Marion Isobel Thomas Award, The Mozart Concerto Award, the Leslie Barklamb Scholarship and the ABC/M.S.O Young Artist Award. Karen has played under the baton of esteemed conductors such as Sir Charles Mackerras, Marko Letonja and Eivind Aadland and has performed and recorded with various artists and groups including Kate Cebrano and The Whitlams.

Karen is currently performing with Orchestra Victoria.
